The best way to learn about Auburn Career Center programs is to visit. All sophomore students are invited to visit Auburn Career Center. We offer Welcome Wednesdays to allow students to visit programs that are of interest to them. Call us at 440-357-7542 to schedule a visit or tour.

Auburn High School is currently accepting applications for Fall 2016 school year!

Want to apply?

Auburn Career Center programs are available to high school students. This includes students enrolled in one of the associated public schools in the district, a home-schooling program, or a non-public, community, charter or online school.

All applications from high school students must be submitted through the guidance counselor of the high school the student attends. The guidance offices in each of the associated public schools in the district have application forms. You can also get application forms at the Auburn Career Center high school office or by contacting the Auburn Career Center Enrollment Department at 440.357.7542.

The Eligibility Requirements to attend Auburn are as follows:

  • Junior Status and on-track for graduation
  • You must have completed the following:
    • 2 English credits
    • 2 math credits
    • 1 science credit
    • 1 social studies credit

*Final admission will be gained upon review of year-end transcripts.

Please see your guidance counselor for your high school’s specific deadline dates or more information and remember that many programs fill up fast, so don't delay!  All students should be striving for the best G.P.A. and attendance possible during their 9th and 10th grade years.

At the end of each round of application, you will be notified by your guidance counselor and by mail whether you have been accepted into an Auburn Career Center program.

Where do I get an application?

Applications are available in the guidance office at your high school beginning in the fall. Applications are also available online at www.auburncc.org. Once you have completed the application, return it to your guidance counselor or to the student services office at Auburn Career Center along with your current high school transcripts.  

How many programs are offered at Auburn?

Auburn Career Center offers 21 programs within the following career cluster areas: Agriculture & Environmental, Business & Administrative Services, Construction Technologies, Education and Training, Health Sciences, Hospitality and Human Services, Industrial & Engineering, Information Technologies, Transportation Systems and World-of-Work.

 

What is a daily schedule at Auburn Career Center like?

On an average schedule at Auburn Career Center, juniors attend classes in the morning, 8:18am-10:53am, and then return to their associate schools for the remainder of the school day.  Seniors begin their day at their associate schools and attend Auburn in the afternoon 10:58am-2:28pm.

                                                              

Is there transportation available from my high school to Auburn?

Yes. Bus transportation is provided by all associate schools.  Approved seniors, with proof of insurance, may drive to Auburn upon receiving a parking permit. 

 

How much does Auburn Career Center cost?

Tuition is not charged for high school students.  However, each program requires the purchase of professional tools and uniforms.  Auburn works with families who need financial assistance.

 

What if I play a sport or am involved in other extracurricular activities?

Auburn Career Center encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities and every effort will be made to accommodate students’ schedules.
