|Mr. Terry Sedivy|
Terry Sedivy has been a member of the Auburn Vocational Board of Education since 2017.
Mr. Sedivy received his BA in American History/Political Science from Hiram College. During his junior year in college he had the opportunity to study overseas at Cambridge University in England. After 29 years in sales, he decided to take the opportunity to continue his education and received his MA in Teaching from Kaplan University. Since then he has been a substitute teacher and worked at various summer camps. He also worked in the Education Department of the Western Reserve Historical Society. He is currently in protection services at the Cleveland Museum of Art.
For 20 years, Mr. Sedivy served in various capacities as a member of the Geauga Lyric Theater Guild, a local theater group in Chardon. As President of the group, they obtained and renovated the old Geauga Theater on Chardon square. It now stands as a central landmark in the village and continues to produce quality shows that involve many interested youth and adults. Besides his administrative duties, he performed in over 100 plays with the Geauga Lyric Theater Guild as well as with other local theater groups.
Mr. Sedivy was also a youth advisor for Newbury United Community Church for 20 years and a Big Brother through the Big Brother/Big Sister organization for 11 years. He has always enjoyed working with young people.
He has travelled extensively and has been to England, France, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Venezuela. He loves to travel and experience different cultures and peoples. He also enjoys bike riding and has explored England and Italy via bicycle. In addition, he also explored most of my native state of Oho by bicycle.
He is married to Maria who is an Ophthalmic Assistant for Kellis Eye Center in Chardon. Maria is also an accomplished violinist who teaches violin in Chardon and is a member of the Suburban Symphony Orchestra. They reside in Newbury, Ohio with their Russian Blue cat, Rhapsody.
